Hockey Battle #005
-------------PREVIEW--------- --------
Pittsburgh Penguins ( 14-6-4 ) @ New York Rangers ( 12-5-3 )
Location: New York, NY; Madison Square Garden
Last 10 Games:
Pittsburgh Penguins 6-3-1
New York Rangers 8-2-0
Season Series: This is the first meeting between these Atlantic Division rivals since March 20th 2011, last season. The Rangers ended up defeating their Rivals 5-2, with Ryan Callahan and Brandon Dubinsky each receiving a goal and 2 assists for their hard efforts.
The Story: This will be the two teams first match up since last seasons March 20th game, which involved a lethal elbow delivered by Matt Cooke on Ryan McDonagh. Cooke was suspended for the final 10 games of the Regular season, and 7 playoff games for the Penguins. Expect both players to be on the ice tonight, but don't expect anything to happen between the two of them.
Who's on Fire: Sidney Crosby, since returning has amassed 9 points in his first 4 games, including 2 goals and adding 7 helpers. As for the New York Rangers, Henrik Lundqvist has 7 wins in his last 8 starts and Richards has consecutive markers in consecutive games.
Injury Report: No Injuries to report. Kris Letang (Nose) will be in the lineup, he missed the beginning of the Penguins practice on Monday, but rejoined later in the day.
The Prediction: I'm expecting a goaltending duel tonight between these two Atlantic Division teams. Expect Sidney Crosby to steal the show once again with yet another multi-point night. Pens' win 3-1.
