The defending cup champions will be going for an 8th Straight win tonight as they take the ice against the New York Islanders. These teams met once already this season earlier this month when Boston beat the Islanders 6-2 in Boston. Tonights match up will be the 2nd of the 4 games the play against each other this season, as well as the first match up they will play on Long Island.
Boston's big story thus far through the season is the fact they started off october 3-7-0, however November has been a much different story going 7-0-0 so far this month, including a win against the same New York team on November 7th.
Zdeno Chara has been leading the way in the last 8 or so games for the Bruins, tallying a total of 6 points in his last 8 games. Tyler Seguin has been an absolute beast, showing no signs of a sophomore slump. Seguin has 11 points in his last 8 games, however he has been kept off of the score sheet the past 2 games. He is a total of 15 on the season which has him tied for 2nd in the NHL with Ryan Suter of the Nashville Predators.
More issues for the Islanders will be the absence of their star netminder, Evgeni Nabokov. Nabokov has been sidelined with whats reported as a groin injury. He is expected to miss 3 to 4 weeks.
Count on Boston winning their 8th in a row tonight against a struggling New York Islanders Team.
